Here is another quilt retreat quilt top – emailed this morning to the SewingHeart@hotmail.com email address.

Quilt completed by Joan – as you can see, she choose to keep colors together, making nice large color blocks in her quilt.  The use of the bold print in the center really draws the eye. It’s hard to believe those are the same blocks that Shirley and Imagene made. It’s fun to see the different ways you can lay out the blocks. Thanks for the picture Joan!

Recent Quilt Retreat News!

As many of you know, I recently held a quilt reatreat in Ashland, NE.

Everyone had a great time, and the participants all wanted to see what each other’s finished quilts looked like, so over the next few weeks – you’ll get to see them all.  (Not as much fun as being at the retreat – but I think you’ll still enjoy seeing these).

The pattern we used was “Scraps for You” by Debbie Caffrey.  Follow this link to Debbie Caffrey’s page for the pattern: LINK For those coming to the Indianola retreat later this month, this is a sneak preview for you of the finished quilt.

Keep in mind, the pattern of each quilt is the same – but you can see the difference made by the way the colors were put together.  More pictures will be going up soon – including the quilt I made at the retreat!  (Click on the image for a larger version of the picture.)

Great job ladies – they actually finished these tops at the retreat, so I was able to take the pictures before we packed up!

Quilt Retreats!

What’s more fun for a quilter than letting her loose in a fabric store for hours?  Going to an event where you have NO interruptions for fixing dinner, NO interruptions to do the laundry, and NO reason not to QUILT!

I just wanted to tell you about 5 upcoming quilt retreats that I am involved with, three I will be hosting, and two I have assisted with the planning.  And the best part – YOU are invited!

In September there will be two retreats in the Annadale, Minnesota area – check out this link if you think you might be able to attend.  MN Quilt Retreat retreat over

In October there will be a retreat in the Indianola, Iowa area – check out this link if you think you might be able to attend.  IA Quilt Retreat

This year the retreats will be featuring a Kalidoscope quilt – and here is a picture of one of the color versions being offered at the Minnesota retreat.  (The Iowa and Nebraska retreats will have slightly different color options).
