Fall 2013 Quilt Retreats

With a heat index over 100 degrees in Omaha today, it’s a great time to think about a cool fall quilt retreat. I’ve got the dates and locations secured and registration is now open for all five retreats! Click here to be taken to each Registration Form.

At the retreats in Ashland, Nebraska and Inwood and Indianola, Iowa we will be making a whimsical hometown quilt by fussy cutting a panel from Terri Degenkolb’s collection Around Town. We will start by fussy cutting 20 scenes from this charming panel. We will add different accent blocks to each scene and will frame your own hometown with a picket fence border to complete a full size quilt.

In Kentucky, we will be sewing one of my favorite quilts, the Tennessee Waltz using rich floral, striped and textures.

I look forward to seeing you ladies again this fall and to meeting new faces as well. Let me know if you have any questions, otherwise, closer to the retreat date I will send out your Supplies List with what to bring along.

Last Call for Spring Card Trick Quilt Retreat

Our first retreat begins tonight; however, you still have another opportunity to join us in April. There are a few spots remaining for the second Spring Quilt Retreat April 4, 2013 (Thursday) at 5:00 PM to April 6, 2013 (Saturday) at 3:30 PM.

At first glance, you may think these cards are playing a difficult trick on you, but if you cut and sew its patches systematically, you’ll find it goes together with no problems whatsoever. We are using the “Wingin’ It” fabrics by The Buggy Barn, which will make this quilt a fun, whimsical project to complete with your friends!

The 2012 Spring Quilt retreat reached the maximum number of quilters, so we have expanded to two different dates this year.

March 14, 2013 (Thursday) at 5:00 PM to March 16, 2013 (Saturday) at 3:30 PM and
April 4, 2013 (Thursday) at 5:00 PM to April 6, 2013 (Saturday) at 3:30 PM
